Itinerary

Day 1 :
Arrival

Arrive at Leh Airport. You will be received by a representative of Adventure Ibex and transferred to the hotel. Check into the hotel for a complete day's rest. O/N Leh.

After an early breakfast, drive to visit the Thikse and Hemis Monastery
Or
Later visit Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Hall of Fame museum, Magnetic Hill and Sangam (Confluence of Zanskar & Indus River)
Post lunch; visit Leh Palace, Market and Shanti Stupa.
Overnight at Leh

Take the Khardungla Pass route to Nubra Valley (the highest motorable road in the world at 18,380 feet) after breakfast and arrive in Hunder in the early afternoon. Khalsar, Disket, or Khardung hamlet are all great options for a midday meal while sightseeing. Visit Hunder Village and have a camel safari across the sand dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village with the rest of the day at your leisure. Spend the night at Hunder

Leave right after breakfast and head for the town of Turtuk. Visit the valley and return to Hunder by car.

When travelling between India and Pakistan, Turtuk is the final Indian settlement before entering Pakistan. Indian forces seized Turtuk from Pakistani forces during their 1971 conflict. Its culture and language are quite close to those of Ladakhi and Baltistan in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Most Turtuk citizens adhere to Shia Islam, particularly the Nurbakshi school.
